Effectively Eliminating Dust Created by Intense Friction

When the substances in the brake pad's friction material burn at high temperatures, they generate gas, which can hinder the braking performance by creating a gap between the pad and rotor. This is known as brake fade. Slits located in the center of the brake pad efficiently expel gas and pad dust, maintaining stable braking performance.

Suppressing Unpleasant Noise with Chamfer Cuts

Pads with sharp corners can produce unpleasant noises during braking. To prevent this, chamfer cuts (end chamfer cuts) are made to remove sharp edges, minimizing uncomfortable brake noise.

No Need for Additional Heat Treatment

Project Mu brake pads are pre-heat treated, eliminating unnecessary materials that would be required only during manufacturing, effectively reducing the generation of gas responsible for brake fade. After purchase, simple bedding-in is all that's needed for worry-free use.

Preventing Deformation with a Sturdy Backplate

The backplate's performance must withstand the powerful pressure of the piston without deforming. Deformation can lead to the detachment of the friction material, posing a significant safety risk. While conventional backplates use steel, Project Mu employs a steel plate with 20% increased strength compared to stock, ensuring sufficient durability.
